KVC Health Systems to Use Klara Messaging App
KVC Health Systems partners with Klara Technologies, Inc. to roll out use of the Klara Messaging App in healthcare system communication.
NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, October 6, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Leading nonprofit behavioral healthcare and child welfare organization, KVCHealth Systems, Inc. (KVC), will use messaging platform, Klara, for secure medical messaging with clients, patients and internally across its healthcare system. KVC will become the first partner to use Klara in behavioral health management. The Klara rollout will begin with KVC Hospitals which serves more than 3,500 youth and adults each year at its psychiatric hospitals. KVC Prairie Ridge Hospital in Kansas City, KS and KVC Wheatland Hospital in Hays, KS have started using Klara. Soon Klara will become a part of the work in other subsidiaries: including KVC Kansas which serves more than half of all children and families involved in the Kansas child welfare system. Klara is projected to be expanded to the subsidiaries: KVC Nebraska, KVC West Virginia, and KVC Kentucky. Klara will be a helpful tool for KVC’s over 1,400 professionals at 34 locations nationwide who serve more than 60,000 people each year.
KVC’s mission is to enrich and enhance the lives of children and families by providing medical and behavioral healthcare, social services and education. Klara will aid KVC systems in fulfilling this promise.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to use technology to simplify our team’s work and elevate the care we provide,” says Jason Hooper, President and CEO of KVC Health Systems. “By using Klara for secure medical messaging, we will make care more convenient, accessible and beneficial for the tens of thousands of people we serve.”
KVC Hospitals is a nonprofit organization that each year serves thousands of youth and adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts and feelings of violence. It offers acute/inpatient and residential psychiatric treatment. KVC uses innovative, evidence-based treatment approaches to ensure each person’s safety and wellbeing.
“Our partnership with KVC is an exciting opportunity to bring mental and behavioral health services into our mission to change healthcare in the US. Access to mental and behavioral care is just as critical to our mission,” says Frederik Mueller, Director at Klara.
Klara is a healthcare messaging tool, for iOS and web browser, which enables users to collaborate on a single patient-centered platform. The instant messaging tool allows teams and providers to communicate among each other, across systems, with patients and external referring professionals.
KVC is integrating Klara into system workflows as it is uniquely suited to improve efficiencies, triage communication and cut-down on risk posed by non-secure, inefficient messaging systems such as traditional email.
“Email is a protocol, not a platform, therefore, it doesn’t work well in healthcare communication,” says Vivek Nanda, Head of Sales Operations at Klara. He further explains: “Information is lost within those multiple email threads and people are missed. This is where Klara brings transparency, everything happens in one patient thread and providers can be added and removed when needed, but nothing is lost and no one is missed, resulting in better outcomes and lower error rates.”
Klara is available for use by solo-providers to large enterprise-level organizations such as KVC. Medical doctors, therapists, behavioral specialists, social workers, as well as pharmacists and labs, find value using Klara in optimizing workflows through more efficient communication.
